I've become so addicted and reliant on the Internet for many different things from communicating with family to entertainment. Over the years I must admit that I tried out a lot of different types of software and I definitely have my favorites. Some are paid but a majority of them are free to use. That's the great thing about the Internet, all of the free software and services and I thought I would share some of my favorites that I use almost every day.
The first one to check out that I use everyday is Gmail. Gmail is a great free email service offered by Google that gives you a lot of storage and makes it easy to search and find conversations. Gmail is really easy to use and makes it extremely simple for me to send messages to friends and family. Another services that you should try to check out if you are in to online auctions on Ebay is a tool called Auction Sniping. You can try out tools like Swift Snipe that allow you tools to win auctions in the last seconds for free. If you love buying things on auction sites this is a free tool to check out.
Another free online service that I use is Skype. Skype allows you to easily instant message or video chat with others. What I love about Skype is that I can easily video chat with my mother and she gets to see how my kids are growing up so quickly. You know that this service is easy to use when a 70 year old lady can easily use it.
Two great services that I love to use for entertainment are Hulu and Pandora. Hulu is a online video site that allows me to watch my favorite shows online. I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten to watch a show and later on watch it on Hulu. Hulu is free to use and it does have some commercials but not as many as if you watched the show on television. Pandora is another great free service to listen to music. You easily select what type of music you like it will play popular songs and artists.
If you have the time I highly recommend trying out these free services online but let me warn you that you may become addicted to them and get nothing done.
