subject: Atop The Table Announces New Spring And Summer Polish Pottery Lineup [print this page]

May 14, 2012Pottstown, PA, USA Wayne Fenstermacher, owner and proprietor of Atop The Table Co., has added more than 125 new pieces of Polish pottery stoneware to their online collection. All of the items are available for shipping worldwide through their website: http://www.AtopTheTable.com.

"We just returned from our importer with Spring and Summer selections of Polish pottery coming directly from Boleslawiec, Poland," says Fenstermacher. "We sorted through more than 6,000 pieces of pottery and selected only the best quality decorative and fully usable pieces of hand-painted stoneware. We wanted to make sure that our customers are guaranteed as wide a variety of designs in the most functional shapes as possible so that they can be fully satisfied when making the choice to add more pottery to their collections."

Fenstermacher returned home with over a dozen new pottery shapes and patterns. The Atop The Table site boasts new Polish pottery selections only two times a year when they receive their shipments from Poland.

"This year we've added more pattern selections for one of the most popular shapes from last year, Fenstermacher notes. This popular shape is the "handled bowls" that originated during World War II in Poland. The large, high-handled, cup-shaped design made it easy for soldiers to dip their mugs into pots of soup while keeping their hands out of it. These cups not only work with hot liquids, but with cold foods as well. They're great to use with ice cream, too when you don't want to hold onto a frozen bowl," Fenstermacher says. So, they can be used all year long.

These ornate ceramics were created by master ceramic artists at Ceramika Artystyczna, a pottery that has won several awards for their dedication to quality and artistic design. Most of the artists employed by Ceramika Artystyczna are women who are graduates from the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts. The profits produced by the sale of their pottery through Ceramika Artystyczna are shared by all of the employees.

All of the stoneware available for sale through Atop the Table is designed to stand the wear and tear of cooking and clean up. The pottery and cookware created by Ceramika Artystyczna is designed to exacting specifications. The clay and glaze used is heated to more than 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, and is designed to distribute heat evenly, without leaving hotspots from the oven or microwave. The glaze used is certified 100% lead free and has low porosity, meaning that plates, bowls, and bakeware can be cleaned easily by hand or in the dishwasher.

Polish ceramics and stoneware are known for their expert artisanry and beautiful, ornate, and original hand-painted designs. Traditional patterns include stylized blue poppies and blue star flowers and other natural and floral themes. The Polish pottery collection at Atop The Table includes everything from serving trays, covered serving dishes, divided wiener dishes, bakers and salt jars to napkin rings, pretzel boxes and everything in between. These gorgeous pieces of ceramic design are sure to turn heads and earn compliments from pottery connoisseurs, family, and friends.
