The movie can be seen myriad times and it doesnt get boring at all. I thought being all grown up I would not cry in a couple so scenes. Though I didnt cry out loud, I did have tears for a couple of scenes. The movie still moves me and I still love the movie. I have seen quite a lot of animation films, but The Lion King is one of the few that is close to my heart. Once, my friend said that animation movies are value for money movies. You go in, get entertained and come out light hearted forgetting about your worries. You get reminded of your childhood days which you tend to forget about when you become an adult. After watching this film, I completely agree to her. For all those who have not seen the movie, you are missing some of the good things in life. You may not be blown away by the movie, but it is one of the few movies that have the ability to move you with its simplicity.
For all those who dont know about the movie, Lion King was released in the year 1994. It was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The background of the story has been set in Africa among the anthropomorphic lions. The story has been influenced by one of the popular biblical tales of Joseph and Moses. The film is about Simba, a cub born to the ruling King Mufasa.
Samba is the cub born to the proud King Mufasa who dotes on him. As he takes him around the Kingdom, he warns the young cub to not go near the place that is beyond the boundaries. But his uncle Scar, who plots on getting the kingdom himself, tells Simba that the place is actually an elephant graveyard. The young cub is pricked with curiosity and takes his friend Nala to visit the place. But when they reach the place, they are attacked by hyenas that plot with Scar in getting the Kingdom. But, Mustafa intervenes and save the two cubs.
Scar again tries to kill Simba, but ends up killing Mufasa and makes him believe that he is the reason for his fathers death and asks him to run away. Simba flees and is rescued by Timon and Pumbaa. He grows up freely in his new-found land being carefree and without the weight of guilt. Simba returns to his land after realizing that he cannot run from the past. He then comes to know that his uncle Scar is the one who killed his father. The rest of the story is whether Simba retains the crown and brings Pride Lands back to its glory.
