I watched an Aweber Webinar yesterday about how to double your traffic by changing your headlines. The best part of the webinar were the headline templates that were shared by Jon Morrow, basically he is the head honcho of headlines. Read on to see the exact template that will increase your traffic and other tips for creating headlines that grab peoples attention.

Below are examples one headline that was changed three times and the open rate each headline received

Discover How This Very Blog Grew to 10,000+ Subscribers In Just 12 Months 54.2% open rate. This headline is the most successful because its specific and adds authority to the blog being discussed.

TIP: When your offering something for FREE in exchange for the readers email the headline is most important! Have something to offer for free on the front end. The FREE video, report, download, or audio then sells them something thats paid.

It is a good idea to read Magazine headlines and see what stands out to you. Copy the structure of the headlines but not the content. The following are examples of articles Jon Morrow produced that have gone viral online:

When you fill in the blanks above you want to try to cover as many of the following points as possible. You dont have to meet all these criteria but the more you meet the better

- Let the reader know whats in it for them and be specific about it!

- Try to make it a topic thats important.

- Use power words that have emotional impact. Dying , Zombie , Rejection etc.

TIP: Numbers do well grabbing attention! You can use a List Post format: 10 Ways .
