Oprah Winfrey put Martha Stewart right on the hot seat this week, asking the domestic diva to spill all about the several months she served in federal jail from October '04 to March '05.

Stewart proceeded to offer her very own personal version of 'Lockup: Raw,' outlining the deprivations of jail life - such as the unavailability of lemons for her tea. "Did you learn a whole lot in jail?" Oprah Winfrey asked Martha when the two Queens of TV got together on Tuesday's 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' "Did that teach you? Did it change you?"

"I'm a very strong person," Stewart answered. "And I discovered out I really could exist without my favorite lemons. I like lemon in my tea! There had been absolutely no lemons! I really could exist with out any luxury whatsoever."

Oprah asked Stewart how she coped with all the monotony of every day life in stir. "i'd awaken [every morning] pondering I had my work to do!" Martha stated, observing that one of her primary tasks in prison had been waxing floors. "I could read all the papers I wanted. I could study books. I study a good deal, Oprah. I thought a lot. I utilized my time very well and I had guests all the time, very great visitors."

Besides reading and thinking, Stewart stated she passed the time cleaning. Among other things, she says the facility's rugs had been "so dirty!" And she had been determined to clean them. "That place was dazzling when i left!" declared America's best-known homemaker.

"No, because I hadn't," Stewart answered tightly. "When I reflect it, it all seems so surreal - such a [case of] being in the wrong place at the wrong time and it's actually over. I am so pleased that I survived as well as I did, that my business survived, that the rebuilding procedure that had to take place not only for me but for all my devoted employees and co-workers has all taken place. We're recovered."

Following the interview about prison was over, Martha demonstrated how to make truly great grilled cheese sandwiches. Clearly, Martha Stewart was back.
