subject: The Hcg Diet, What Is It? [print this page]

The HCG Diet is exactly what the doctor ordered" just kidding! No doctor would ever suggest something as absurd as pumping yourself full of chemicals with the aspirations of shedding a little bit of extra baggage from your tummy area. That would be completely irresponsible.

There are some things in life that are just too perfect to be real, and this would be one of those things! I know it can be tempting to get swept up in the promises of miracle diets with instant results. But seriously, when do these diet crazes ever produce real results? Slow down and think about it.

Humans are complicated and losing weight is equally complicated. Just gobbling up herbs, or even popping pills like popcorn isn't the answer! Diet is important and we need to be proactive when choosing what we shove in our faces! The fact is calories are good in a way. We need them to keep going, we just need to be sensible. Ideally we would add a little exercise too. There are no simple fixes.

So you might be thinking, but wait...hcg isn't easy. There is some truth to that in the sense that if you've ever read up on it, it can be very confusing. It may even seem like you are trying to understand some jumble that isn't even in your native tongue! Bunches of technical stuff and medical terms. Unless you have a background in any of these fields you will probably get lost. That fact alone should stir caution to anyone considering it.

Who are you going to allow to advise you? Don't forget that a lot of these doctors are no better than salesman. They are actually paid talking heads...not the type of person you would want to trust making decisions on something you plan on ingesting! Make sure if you plan on attempting this to seek out the council of a trusted family doctor so you truly understand what you're doing.

What the heck does HCG even mean in the first place? It is short for human chorionic gonadotropin, which is a hormone produced during pregnancy. The levels of it in the body are thought to affect the severity of morning sickness. However, it isn"t only associated with pregnancy, cancerous tumors can also produce it.

So if you aren't freaked out yet, wait until you hear this red flag! Did you know that the Food and Drug Administration determined that the hcg diet is fraudulent. In 2011 they made it illegal, prohibitting any further distrubution of any of the products associated with the diet. I don't know about you, but that is a good reason to be alarmed. There is usually cause for something to be banned!

So my friends, what have we learned today? Hopefully, it"s that the HCG Diet and all other fad diets are to be avoided like the plague! At best, they"re all scams, and at worst they"re a hazard to your health.
