subject: Plantar Fasciitis Treatment - 3 Tips to Relieve the Pain [print this page]

First off, please note that the type of plantar fasciitis treatment that I'm recommending here, although it can be extremely effective, will only give you temporary relief from the pain and discomfort.

Have you ever thought to yourself, "I must take better care of my feet"? Chances are, these types of thoughts only enter your mind after you have slowed down a bit after some sort of exertion and the dreaded throbbing started.

We all take our feet for granted most times and expect them to do their job everyday come rain or shine. If after a hard day's exertions, our feet ache or throb, we usually rely on them being ok the next day. Wouldn't it be better to offer your feet some proactive plantar fasciitis treatment?

It is a cold hard fact that most sufferers of plantar fasciitis don't find a permanent cure for their ailment. They simply live with the pain, day after day, week after week, not seeming to realize that if they only took care of their feet and sought out an effective treatment, they could find a permanent solution to their condition.

Don't let that be you, ok? Don't be the type who is always hoping that the pain will somehow just go away.

If you want to self-treat your condition then here are a few tips to ease the pain;

1. Rest your feet as often as you can. You need to put in the effort to rest! Lots of it.

2. Utilize a bucket of ice and put your affected foot in. Not for a minute or two either, try it out for 5-10 minutes at a time. I know it's uncomfortable but it does ease the pain somewhat.

3. Stretching exercises can be effective. Cross your legs with the affected one on top and stretch your toes (using the same side hand as the foot you are stretching) towards your shin. Now gently rub the arch of your foot with the thumb of the other hand.

Please note that should you carry out any plantar fasciitis exercises or stretches incorrectly or listen to someone who has no understanding of plantar fasciitis treatment, then you might do more harm than good. The quicker you take action to permanently restore your feet to their former glory, the faster your recovery will be.
