Peter Tagtgren started the Swedish metal band PAIN in 1996, through which he aspired to blend heavy metal with industrial, electronic and techno music. Since then, PAIN has released seven albums, the most recent one in 2011 entitled You Only Live Twice.
Tagtgren stands as the only current member of PAIN, in which he composes and writes all songs, as well as performs all instruments. A few other members also contributed guitar, bass and drums for PAINs previous albums.
Tagtgren is also the founder of The Abyss studios, a label specializing in death metal, as well as lead vocalist of Hypocrisy, a death metal band. Hypocrisy is Tagtgrens main focus, with PAIN as a side-project.
