subject: Brochure Design Is An Expression In Creativity [print this page]

A good brochure design is an expression of creativity that is aimed at motivating innumerable buyers. Though leaflets have limited life, designers spend considerable effort and time in creating them. Catalogues are acknowledged forms of publicity that are used by marketing organizations and commercial bodies for informing prospective buyers. Of different kinds of brochures, pamphlet design is a popular form. They are used for informing consumers about any sale offers, opening of showrooms, or launch of products.

Designers while creating leaflets need to be careful about a number of aspects such as format, printing, paper quality, color choice, type face. In addition to these, use of images, layout, and content are also important considerations of a designer. While planning a leaflet the primary consideration in is its purpose. Depending on purpose brochures could be single fold, tri fold, Z-fold, accordion fold, parallel fold, gate fold and barrel fold. Pamphlet, another format is perhaps the commonest of all. This is widely distributed in times of openings of showrooms, a sudden exhibition, or a fabulous offer.

A very important aspect of booklet designing is utility of white space. Though this might sound a bit absurd, but sufficient blank space increases readability of fliers, posters, and brochure design in general. Use of white should always be done in a balanced way with other images or contents contained in distribution material. A well balanced use of colors increases readability and aesthetics of flyers.

Another feature that enhances readability is printing quality of your booklet. Good print quality requires that your letters are sharp and without any smudges and kinks. It should be remembered that brochures advertise your products and speak a lot about your company. A company with commendable goodwill is supposed to print catalogues that are of superior quality and distinctive. For making your publicity materials more attractive, choosing proper coloration is important. Usually for designing flyers bright colors are perfect as they are identifiable from a distance. Colors not only convey emotions but also recreate aesthetics. For effective pamphlet design, combining different colors is vital.

Brochure design is never complete without paying attention to your typographic details. Type face should be so selected that a reader feels comfortable while reading. There are many fonts that are stylized but do not make good reading. The essence of a good design is that type font must be eligible, neat, and crisp. A reader must never find difficulty in reading a publicity material.

In a publicity material, buyers look for outstanding information that is not usually found in product literatures. A pamphlet must always have something outstanding or something catchy. Usual or mundane things are ideally not mentioned in catalogues. While designing, creators always use bullet points to highlight specifics. These specifics are the main draws for prospective customers.

In pamphlet design, paper quality is of prime importance as these are meant to last for at least few days. Pamphlets which are distributed by marketers for special occasions need to be printed on good quality paper for creating impression on consumers minds.
