subject: You Need To Use Hdmi Cables [print this page]

I can't get enough televisionI can't get enough television. I recognize that I am not alone, and with all the recent upgrades and breakthroughs in technology, the experience has become much better over the past few years. There have to be more people out there that have developed into HD snobs and can't stand watching television or movies any other means.

When you visit a friend's house that isn't up to date with HD cable or satellite, or at least with their television for screening movies, then you shake your head a little and feel a bit sorry for what they are missing. I realize it's not the right thing to do, but there really isn't any better way to enjoy television or movies than in the glory that is true HD. It is depressing that it has only taken a few years for many of us to become spoiled like this, but I know that I cannot be the only one in the fact that the first moment I clicked on HD programming at home after it was installed, that I wanted to hug the technician that set it up.

This was amazing, and watching movies at home has become even better because of HD technology and particularly Blu-ray. Now, if you haven't upgraded and started building your Blu-ray collection, then you really are lacking something. It is the best way to see movies in true HD, especially if you use the appropriate cables, using HDMI cables to connect all of it. This is the cable with the rectangular ends, not the red, white and yellow component cables which people already know about.

Using HDMI cables are the sole method to really get HD out of the picture and sound of the Blu-ray. They were very expensive when they were first introduced, but like every other technology that has become the standard, these cables have come down in price through the years. But do not cheap out on them. Make sure that you pick up a couple of sets for hooking up your television to your surround sound system and your Blu-ray player.

That doesn't mean that you have to buy the most expensive cables out there, but usually buying something in the middle price range will do most people just fine. You will not be disappointed and you may even get that feeling that you want to spontaneously hug somebody again. So if you are using the component cables, upgrade as soon as possible.
