Digital PC Joystick: Atari style digital joystick is mostly used in home computer. It was first introduced in Atari 2600 videogames and then adopted to home PC. Digital joystick has 5 Press buttons, out of which 4 are arranged in EAST WEST NORTH SOUTH direction and the 5th button is for FIRE. It is a 9 pin D shell connector. When joystick turns to a particular direction 1 or 2 button of same direction gets closed. The entire button gets closed when the fire button is worked.
PC ANALOGUE JOYSTICK INTERFACE: This model was presented by IBM together with its first computer. This PC joystick basically has 2 buttons. A special Y- cable required to connect two joysticks at a same time. Original IBM joystick card has two connectors. The card consists of four monostable multivators. This was the simple timer circuits which put out a pulse with width proportional to joystick value.
