Law & Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit) happens to be an American Police TV program drama sequence situated inside the area of New York. The 1st series started out on September 1999. This television series was the first spin-off on the outstanding crime drama, Law & Order produced by Dick Wolf.

The sole reason why Detective Benson needed to be a part of the team was her history of child rape.

Just after twelve years of actively playing the main part on the show, Christopher Meloni or detective Eliot Stabler is actually retiring from the popular NBC television series. On 50 years of age, the Law & Order lead character already played the job since the program aired back in 1999. Christopher's retirement comes after his co-star Mariska Hargitay announced that she would be reducing her airtime on law and order SVU episodes likewise.

Ice-T, who's appeared alongside Meloni in Law and Order: SVU for almost all that period said that he is very surprised at news reports of Christopher's departure from the TV program. Ice-T suggested that the actor's decision to leave could have been affected by his income expectation into the long run. "We all negotiate separately... at the end of the day you still have to sit down with the execs and hammer it out." He then continued to tell - "I guess with Chris, it didn't go his way. I'm sad though. Me and Chris have been together a long time."

In contrast, Meloni basically said in which it was time for another chapter. Therefore it now seems that way certainly. After weeks of negotiations, Chris Meloni is actually officially becoming a member of True Blood as a series regular in Season five.
