subject: Ibogaine Detox What You Should Know Before You Begin [print this page]

.Prior to your arrival at an Ibogaine Detox facility, you will need to have a series of tests performed by a licensed physician. The tests that are required vary from clinic to clinic so youll want to check with the clinic first to determine what is needed before beginning treatment. These tests include an EKG test, series E blood work, full urine analysis, kidney function analysis, liver enzymes analysis, and an HIV test.

.You cannot begin Ibogaine detox treatment until you have ceased drug use for an extended period of time. Each drug varies so youll need to contact the detox facility to determine your eligibility for treatment. Some facilities offer programs to help you cease drug use prior to beginning actual Ibogaine therapy. If you need help getting clean, find one who does so you can achieve sobriety first.

.You may need to cease use of certain medications, including prescription medications that may have interactions with Ibogaine. Contact the treatment facility you will be attending to find out more.

.You may be denied treatment if you suffer from certain medical conditions, including active infections like ulcers, pneumonia, skin abscesses, cancer, cerebellar dysfunction, chronic fainting, emphysema, epilepsy, gastric ulcer, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, heart disease, heart murmur, heart surgery, history of blood blots or coagulation abnormalities, and other conditions.

.Because Ibogaine treatment is not legalized or regulated in the United States, you will have to go overseas to receive treatment. In order to go overseas, youll require a passport. Plan ahead so you can get your passport quickly. You dont want to prolong your treatment by having to wait for your passport to clear. If youre having trouble obtaining a passport, you can contact your treatment facility and see if they can assist you in getting one expedited.

.You should understand that an Ibogaine detox is not a be all-end all to your drug addiction. But it will give you a major push toward sobriety once and for all. You will still need to continue to work through your addiction issues following treatment.

.Many worry about the hallucinations that one may suffer while taking Ibogaine. But in reality, these are dream-like experiences that last no more than a day. You will be cared for and monitored closely by a medical doctor throughout your entire detox. If you have questions or are scared during your experience, your doctor can comfort you. These dream like experiences go away as soon as you wake up all you have to do is open your eyes. At any given moment during your detox, you can wake up.
