subject: Audi Offers Best Of Both Worlds [print this page]

When it comes to German executive saloon cars there are three main contenders, the BMW 3 Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4. Out of the three the A4 has to be less distinguished and a relatively new comer. The Mercedes-Benz is all about comfort and luxury, making sure the driver is as comfortable as possible while not falling asleep! The BMW is more aimed at providing an excellent drive, offering excellent handling characteristics.

For years now the Audi A4 has been the bridge between the two, Audi have placed the A4 almost as the alternative executive saloon. If you want a good drivers car but also want luxury then the A4 provides the best balance and compromise. Recently Mercedes-Benz and BMW have given their respective executive saloons a facelift, and Audi has responded with the 2012 update for its used Audi A4 in Epsom.

The most noticeable change on the A4 is the front end, as with all new Audis the new A4 has had a headlight treatment that now incorporates LED daytime running lights. Standard models will come with a grey grille whilst the S4 and six cylinder models will come as standard with a black grille distinguishing them from the range.

To help cut emissions and improve fuel efficiency across the range all A4 models now come with engine start/stop and recuperation as standard. Under the bonnet a lot of work has been done on the TDI diesel engines, there is a choice of six diesel engines variants with either four or six cylinders. Like its bigger brothers the A4 comes with the option of a lot of new technology, including a mobile phone interface which facilitates a number of online services, such as Google-powered Points of Interest search and navigation using Google Earth images, plus it can create a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) hotspot within the A4 enabling occupants to connect phones and computers to the internet wirelessly.
