The Alexander von Humboldt National Park is one of the magnificent scenery that Cuba has. The park is located near the city of Baracoa, and is shared by the eastern provinces of Holguin and Guantanamo. In the 70 000 hectares that comprise it, you will find countless adventures for ecotourism. This natural site is one of the most valuable for the conservation of the endemic flora.

It was declared a World Heritage Site in the XXV Meeting of the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO, held in Helsinki, Finland. The Alexander von Humboldt National Park is the most biologically diverse protected area of Cuba and the Caribbean islands. The park is named after the German scientist, who visited the Caribbean island between 1800 and 1801 and is considered its second discoverer.

If you visit its mountains, plateaus, rivers and coral reefs, you will find several specimens endemic to Cuba as the almiqui. For its natural values, the park offers visitors accommodation and camping sites. It also promotes hiking with the help of a highly trained staff. You will find several places such as Stone Candle, from where tours and on ecotouristic pathways.

Cabeza de Jaguani is a good place to enjoy Cuba holidays, if you visit this park. At this place you can enjoy the scenery of a river with waterfalls and cascades in the midst of tropical rain forests. You can visit The Hill of the Mule, one of the best viewpoints in the park. From there you can see part of the Jaguani River and the Toldo Plateau, geographic feature that is one of the highest points of the Moa-Baracoa massif.

In the Alexander von Humboldt Park you will also meet the Height of Iberia, a plateau with gaps, the only of its kind in Cuba and the world. Taco Bay, in the municipality of Baracoa, is also part of the park. One of its main attractions is that in its waters lives the manatee, another species endemic to Cuba. You'll also find the famous Farallones de Moa. This area has a developed karst cave fluvial system, considered one of the five natural national monuments Cuba.

If you decide to explore the park, you can stay at the Hotel Guantanamo, a resting place that has 124 rooms and 12 cabins. All of them have the necessary facilities for you to achieve a pleasant stay. The tourist facility belongs to the chain Islazul and is characterized by the quality of its services. The Hotel Guantanamo also has karaoke, disco, swimming pool, games room, and a shopping complex.
