subject: Employment Opportunities For Veterans [print this page]

In the year 2011, the jobless rate for returning veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan regions was 12.6%. That is a remarkably high unemployment rate for veterans and unfortunately it has not improved much as 2012 has rolled in. It seems like such a shame that the men and women who have fought so hard for our country have been forgotten about or remain unemployed. It is not that they want to stay out of work, quite the opposite. Many of these veterans have been out of work for over a year and say they will do just about anything to get themselves back into the workforce.

Many college graduates have this exact same problem. After you are out of the job market for so long, no employer wants to take a chance on you even though the government has begun offering tax deductions for those who employ veterans. If you apply for a job at a local fast food burger restaurant when you get desperate enough for a job, you are turned away and told that you are overqualified. This happens so often that our former military members are beginning to get incredibly frustrated.

Luckily, there is an opportunity for them to get work and make their own hours! Real estate continuing education will not only teach them new skills but prepare them to enter the job market. They can take real estate courses online to get ready for state run tests and they are even able to learn how to invest in real estate.

For a person who has been out of work for a long period of time, this kind of job is a dream come true. Not only can you make your own hours but the pay off can be enormous! The part time employment can help those who are still recovering from a rigorous tour of duty in a foreign country.

It is a fantastic morale booster to come home and be a contributing member of society again instead of an unemployed ex-military relying on the kindness of your family and friends. Being able to support yourself is definitely something that helps the psyche. Our fighting men and women deserve at the very least to be mentally well when they come back home and they definitely deserve the chance to work in the private sector again. With real estate investment training they get just that.
