subject: Landscape Photography Australia 5 Basic Tips To Capture Stunning Images [print this page] The camera has a way of capturing images that moves the heart and conveys a message to its viewers. Surely, anybody can capture images but it takes a good photographer to deliver the desired effect with just a simple click on the camera button.
Being interested in landscape photography in Australia, I always have the urge to pull out my camera and capture a breathtaking moment every time I chance upon one. However, not all images I have captured were that breathtaking enough. It took me awhile to master the art of landscape photography and now, I am going to share some of my own tips and advices especially for those who are still learning the craft.
1.The standard shot. As tradition dictates, it is advisable to be grounded on the rule of the third. This means you have to set your camera into grids divided into three horizontal and vertical segments. Then, determine your focus. See to it that the main image is set between the intersections of two of the lines. However, there are instances when the rule of third does not work for all images. The solution? Experiment.
2.Make use of foregrounds. Instead of mainly being interested in your main subject, also try to consider the foreground image. This adds a little spice to the entire photograph. Make use of simple objects such as rocks, plants, trails and even roads. Remember, foregrounds give further emphasis to the meaning of the picture.
3.Use a steady base. This means you need to bring with you your tripod. This can help you capture steady images and even help you avoid a camera shake which can disrupt the entire photograph. However, if there is none available, a steady surface will suffice.
4.View other focal points. Have you always set your view on the horizon and eventually grew tired of it? You can try other forms of taking pictures. How about using some of that macro focus feature? Place your camera on the ground and try capturing images, with the ground on focus and the view on a blur. This way, you can have variations on your images.
5.Play with lights. This means you need to maximize the light available and use it to your own advantage. The best points of the day to capture great pictures would be during dawn and daybreak as there is just an ample amount of light capable of providing excellent images.
An image tells a story and you as a photographer needs to have that insight and skill to deliver awesome photographs that far exceed their visual context.
