subject: Finding My Best Face Cleanser [print this page] When I was out shopping for a face cleanser I knew that I wanted to find one that was good for my skin type. I looked around many stores and read a lot of labels. Reading labels is really the only way to know what you are dealing with and what a face cleanser will do for you.
Cleansers with alcohol in them is something that I wanted to stay away from. This can be more difficult than you may think. Sometimes alcohol may not show up on the label but still be in the cleanser. Fragrances many times are made with alcohol so it is best to stay away from cleaners with fragrance.
What I did want to find on the label was Alpha Hydroxy acids and salicylic acid. These are great for fighting wrinkles, acne and aging. This can help to brighten your skin and make it look younger. There is also an exfoliating agent to both that will help to remove the dead skin cells.
Exfoliating is an important part of a good skin care regimen. Alpha Hydroxy acids are great for slough dead skin cells and brightening a dull complexion. Dermatologists prescribe it for helping to get rid of wrinkles. It can be drying and irritate sensitive skin. This is why I decided to see what effect it would have on my skin once or twice through the week before starting to use it regularly.
Salicylic acid is the best thing if you have trouble with pimples or acne. It cleanses your skin well and exfoliates. Salicylic acid is also known as the Beta Hydroxy acids and can be found in citrus juices such as grapefruit juice.
Natural face cleaners are something that I decided I wanted to give a try. While out shopping I decided to round up what I would need to make a mango and avocado cleanser. Pureeing up mango and avocado seed gives you the acid needed for exfoliating along with the moisturizer you get from the avocado.
Whether you decide to go with a natural face cleanser or something over the counter they both have their positives and negatives. I decided to try both to see which one I liked best. There are many types of both to choose from so you may need to give a few a try before finding the right one.
Finding what works best for my skin was my goal. I wanted something that would cleanse and moisturize, while also exfoliating. After doing my research and shopping around I think I will be sticking with what I found works best for a while. You never know when your skin type will change and you need to try again. But with all the work it took to find my perfect face cleanser I hope that isn't any time soon.
