subject: Use Teeth Whitening Gel Or Other Products For Whiter Teeth [print this page]

Teeth are something that many people don't think about on a regular basis. We use them when we bite into or chew our food and we also show them off when we smile. If your teeth have become discolored or stained, you may want to consider using teeth whitening gel or other whitening products to make your smile whiter.

It is nice to know that there are a variety of teeth whitening products on the market today. This means that you can use the method that you are the most comfortable with. For instance, one of the easiest and least expensive methods is to simply use toothpaste that has whitening ingredients in it. Because of the relatively low levels of the active ingredient, this method works very slowly and may be difficult to notice whether or not a change is actually occurring. While many people use whitening toothpaste, it is usually in addition to other teeth whitening products such as paint-on formulas, strips, and teeth whitening gel.

The paint-on or brush on paste can be easy to use and you can control which teeth are being treated. This is particularly helpful if you have one tooth that is more stained than others. The challenge is that your saliva will quickly attack the paste or liquid and begin to break it down.

Whitening strips are easy to use, especially if you are on the go and are in a hurry. You simply peel off the backing and stick the strip to your teeth. The whitening agent stays on your teeth until you remove the strip.

Finally, the most popular method for getting whiter teeth is the teeth whitening gel. These kits usually come with a tray that fits around your teeth. The gel is placed in the tray and then the tray is pressed against the teeth. Gels come with different percentages of the active ingredient, which is usually either carbamide or hydrogen peroxide. Depending on the strength of the gel and the amount of time you leave it on your teeth, you may get results faster. You should be aware that a stronger teeth whitening gel may cause tooth sensitivity, especially if it is left on the teeth longer than recommended by the manufacturer. By following the instructions, using whitening gel can be quite easy to do, cause little if any pain, and be very rewarding. Within a few weeks or even less, you should be seeing dramatic results. You will probably wonder what took you so long to get around to whitening your teeth.
