subject: Supernatural of Grave Importance Review [print this page] Supernaturals Season 7 Episode 19 entitled, Of Grave Importance gives you the classic ghost-hunting adventure, not to mention it brings back one of your favorite old pals of the show.
Dean and Sam receive a call from a fellow hunter named Annie, who later on is revealed to have been romantically involved with Dean, Sam and Bobby. Annie said she heard of Bobbys demise and she has some of Bobbys books which she wants to give to them. Dean and Sam agree to meet up with her for lunch the next day after she checks out on a case.
Annies case turns out to be a haunted house. She visits the house and witnesses a ghost attack and kill a teenage couple shacking up inside. By this time youd probably start having that hunch that Annie is not going to make it to her lunch-date with the Winchester brothers.
And youre right. The next day, Dean and Sam are in a restaurant waiting for Annie. Youd notice at this point that Dean carries Bobbys flask with him all the time. After a considerably long hour of wait, Dean and Sam realize that something is wrong. They start to call Annies phone but to no avail. So they decide to go to the haunted house and look for Annie themselves.
Inside the haunted house, Bobby, who apparently lingers on earth because he is connected to his flask, sees Annie. Now, the fact that Annie can see Bobby in his ghost form proves that Annie is well, dead. Meanwhile, Dean and Sam then conduct their own investigation and are convinced that Annie had been in the house. Back at their hotel, Bobby successfully sends Dean and Sam a message through a mirror that Annie is trapped in the house. Bobby signs off the message with his name which convinces Dean that it is he is with them.
After a deeper investigation, Dean and Sam learn that the house belonged to a man named Whitman Van Ness, and a convict named Dexter killed everyone in the house a long time ago and even now that he is already a ghost, it is still out on a killing spree.
Now, another ghost named Victoria revealed to Annie and Bobby that while Dexter kills the humans, it is the ghost of Whitman Van Ness who feeds off from these dead bodies to remain strong.
To stop Whitman, Dean and Sam start their search for Whitmans bones to burn them. Whitman tries to sabotage their quest but fails. Annie and Bobby go into a search of their own, but for the bones of Whitmans other victims.
After successfully burning Whitmans bones, Dean and Sam then burn the bones Annie and Bobby found to send all those souls in peace. Annie departed, but not Bobby. He feels like he still has a lot of things to do, which leaves the brothers especially Dean a little frustrated because he is messing the natural order of things. The episode ends with Dean, Sam and Bobby all pondering whats in store for the three of them.
