The world of birds in Cape Town South Africa is one of the a small amount of sizeable bird parks in the world today. The founder of World of Birds opened the park more than 30 years ago with the intention to breed birds as a profit-making venture. Shortly, though, world of birds turned a place of protection designed for every ill or injured bird in the attractive Hout Bay valley.

The first birds to seak saftey and shelter were being fed and nurtured until the numbers grew and they were forced to erect the original of the numerous aviiaries. The originator of World of Birds has finnaly reached his vision of providing an enclosed tropical garden filled with creatures and birds. The world of birds is an amazing wildlife sanctuary.

In excess of 3000 birds (and small animals similar to monkeys) of 450 diverse varieties are uniquely presented in more than 100 spacious and tropically landscaped walkthrough aviaries that permit the most intimate closeness with nature. You move from one species to the next through the aviaries from owls to parrots to birds of prey. The most wonderful part about going from one aviary to the next, is that the birds perform exactly the way they do in the wild, on the other hand because to them people are not a danger, they go about there buiness as if you were not even there. They nourish, sing, display construct nests incubate eggs plus nourish their chicks right within front of your eyes. The world of Birds is within a tropical garden setting within the Hout Bay valley and is a paradise meant for nature lovers and photographers. Each visit is a very special experience and differs with every season.
