subject: Motorhome To Hire For The Uk Tour Of A Lifetime [print this page]

If you are someone who prefers to stay in the UK for your holidays you may find yourself faced with something of a dilemma. With so many first class coastal resorts to visit, which one do you actually go for?

Would you opt for Blackpool? With its famous tower, its Golden Mile, its world renowned illuminations and its splendid Pleasure Beach Blackpool, in Lancashire in the North West of England, is by some margin the UKs most popular seaside resort. During the summer months it is a major entertainment venue, with many of the countrys most famous showbiz names performing variety shows at the Grand Theatre.

Alternatively you might want to head south to visit Brighton, the bigger part of the city of Brighton and Hove, in Sussex. Whilst its historic narrow Lanes were the only part of the whole town to have survived the attentions of marauding sixteenth century French raiders, the Marina, the Royal Pavilion and the Palace Pier (and the West Pier, as was) later came along to create a familiar and hugely popular resort on the southern coast of England.

Meanwhile back in the north the civil parish and proud port of Whitby, in Yorkshire, has a very rich maritime and tourist heritage. It is where Caedmon, the earliest of the English poets, lived and was where Captain Cook first learned the basics of seamanship. A deeply historic centre of fishing and whaling industry, Whitby all the same attracts considerable numbers of holidaymakers and is in actual fact one of Britains most visited coastal resorts. In the summer it hosts the famous Whitby Regatta, which takes place over a three day period in August.

The writers own favourite coastal town is Margate in Kent, that in spite of the effective closure as a holiday venue of the once thriving neighbouring resort of Cliftonville, with its long and bracing Esplanade and its scenic chalk cliffs, arcades, pubs and gift shops.

Of course if you are thinking of reserving a room at a hotel or even at an unassuming little bed and breakfast you will want to consider which of these resorts, or indeed of the great many others that havent been mentioned, appeals the most to your taste. You could on the other hand, of course, hire a motorhome or camper van, save on the expense of the hotel bills and then tour the coastline moving from one resort to another, enjoying the distinct character of each whilst on your travels.

Finding a camper van to hire is very likely to be the cheapest but yet most efficient and effective way to move around the English coastline. It enables you to stay for as long as you like in any one place that takes your fancy, but to move on effortlessly to somewhere else as soon as the fancy takes you.
