subject: Our Asus Rt-n56u Review
[print this page] Hi guys, I just got abrand new wifi router (ASUS RT N56U Wireless Router) and i'm very happy because it is fabulous, I Really Like My New Asus Black Diamond. My older wireless router (TP Link) genuinely sucked and I was often having issues with it.
I finally got sick and tired of resetting my old router and decided enough is enough. I hate it when the internet just stops working when I'm right in the middle of some thing. My older wireless router did not have built in gigabit switch ports.Neither would it support other functions I needed, also its wi-fi reception was not great at long distances and it wasn't good looking at all, on the other hand My ASUS RT-N56 has all the functionality and also has the cool design. I'm really glad I got rid of that old wireless router and replaced it with the Asus Black Diamond.
Features of the RT-N56U:
The ASUS Black Diamond RT N56U Wireless Router comes equipped with lot of great features that aren't abundant in market. This will make it difficult to do a feature by feature comparison. The design is eye-catching, almost sexy and that's a pretty unusual thing to say about a wireless router. It was intended for gaming and multimedia. The dual USB slots are one more thingy which I like about this wireless router.
So here is how this wireless router breaks down:
The wireless router has dual-bands that both support Wireless N at 300Mbps.
One wi-fi band is on the 5Ghz band and the other on the 2.4 Ghz band. You can use BOTH simultaneously. So you can use one for video games and the other for surfing. Four Gigabit switch ports. Two USB ports and one WAN port. The web interface is a lot more useful and user-friendly in comparison with what you can find on most wireless routers. The web user interface is very user-friendly and intuitive to use.
My Experience:
Well, it has been Ten days since I decided to buy this ASUS RT N56U Wireless Router and my current experience is just wonderful. The router looks beautiful and it's a complement to my decor. The user interface is the most impressive I have seen on almost every other wireless router and makes configuring my wifi network almost enjoyable.
Benefits:
The Gigabit ports are essential and so is the WAN to LAN throughput rate to and from to the router is significantly faster than most wireless routers. The USB ports are configurable and can do many things. Overall very good signal strength and range.
Cons:
Because the EZ UI Interface is not like other wireless router web interfaces it may be a little slow from time to time.
Conclusion:
This is like my 6th wireless router. The Asus Black Diamond is by far the best wireless router I've ever owned. It is best for home and office environments when you have to have a high availability and lag free environment especially for video gaming and watching high definition movies on the internet is required. You will also be pleasantly suprised to find that as nice as this wireless router is it's actually less expensive than a number of the "bigger name" wireless routers available.
The router not only performs well; it looks great as well. A blend of sex-appeal and high-end performance. Features like Hardware NAT Acceleration and "Ai Radar" give this wireless router superpowers unachievable with mortal routers. I don't get why other routers never thought about dual USB ports. It's actually a very useful feature!
