subject: Community pillows And Blankets Review [print this page]

On this episode, we got what we are accustomed to from Community; we got a parody of a documentary, the documentary was about the war between Pillows and Blankets. Hence, this weeks episode was called Pillows and Blankets. This documentary has Keith David as a commentator which was more than great, as we got to hear him as the commentator of the rift between Troy and Abed.

We also got to see Jeff being enlisted on the help list by Dean Pelton in order to interfere between Troy and Abed. As for Deans opinion that they are going to witness the record that would be enlisted in the Guinness Book world record for the building of a fort using pillows. While Jeff is wondering what the heck is with the camera crew. As for the mediation and interference that was planned by Dean and Jeff, Abed is given a chance to clear the pillows by Troy, but he only has until midnight. But of course, Abed doesnt plan to comply with such thing, and the first fight breaks out at exactly 12:05. We got to see feathers flying everywhere across the room and it lasts for a whole 6 minute, and even after the battle was over, both sides still held their ground with no intention of backing down.

Jeff plays his role by delaying school by gathering the troops, a genius action on his part. As for Annie she was also in on the action as she played the role of a field doctor / nurse to the fallen soldiers in the battlefield, in this case, the fallen soldiers are people covered in way too much feather. And Pierce presents a weapons idea to Abed, a weapon so deadly in his arsenal that he himself wishes that he doesnt have to use it in battle. But when Chang joins the battle with his gang, Abed is forced to use the deadly weapon, the weapon is Pierce covered in pillows from all sides and duct tape, a lethal weapon indeed.

Then we see Troy getting a hold of the list that Abed made that includes all of Troys weak points. Then he sends a SMS to Abed and calls for a ceasefire agreement and a secret meeting with him. We see Troy and Abed deciding to finish their relationship as friends.

As for the last and final battle, it occurs in the cafeteria just after dawn. Chang gets finished off and we see Dean interfering and stopping the battle to announce that the Guinness book of records representatives arent going to come. So this results that everyone stopping and quitting, all expect Abed and Troy who are still fighting and slapping each other regardless of Deans announcement. This is was due to the fact that they both know that this is the last thing they will ever do as friends before their friendship ends.

All in all, the episode was more than great; it had that whole documentary feel to it which added to its awesomeness.
