subject: Turning Plain Into Special [print this page] In my work and in my privet life, I have been trying to push myself to think outside of the box. It seems to be the magic word nowadays. People want to see and experience things in new ways. In order to come up with new things, we are encouraged to think outside of the box where we allegedly are. I took this principle further and implemented it in interior design. I have always been highly interested in interior design but never felt brave enough to do bold changes. With this new way of thinking, I started to renovate my bathroom. I have always had a rather conventional bathroom with tiles, bathtub and a sink with a countertop. However, this time around I decided to really think outside of the box, and in the end came up with great things.
I started the whole process by removing everything that used to be in the bathroom. I decided to paint the walls in light lilac and added some white details such as molding. I wanted to create a very clean and fresh feel to the bathroom so I chose a white bathtub that stands on its own i.e. not between any walls. I also bought a white chair which I draped in light lilac flowery textile. It is unusual to have a chair in the bathroom but why not? It is a perfect item for mine. But the greatest decision I made was to put a fireplace. I pondered on it for a while but then became more and surer that a fireplace was what reflected my personality. And after all, we had gotten a fireplace installed in our living room about a year ago so we knew what it takes and who to turn to. I called Uunisept, a Finnish fireplace company with whom we had successfully dealt with before. I went to Uunisept website and straightaway spotted a fireplace that would fit perfectly in my bathroom.
In no time an expert from Uunisept came over, took the measurements and came back to install the fireplace leaving me with the bathroom of my dreams.
