subject: Spring Cleaning...your Body With Juice Feasting! [print this page] With spring here it's time to pull out those juicers and get busy cleaning our body's! Juice feasting is exactly that, feasting on nothing but freshly made nutritious and delicious juices from one day to 120 days!
Juice feasters enjoy as much fresh fruit and vegetable juices as they need to feel satisfied. In fact, a person should consume at least one gallon of juice per day while feasting, not including intake of water, herbal teas and coconut water. It takes about 15 pounds of food to make one gallon of juice! There is no hunger and no deprivation involved!
Juice Feasting is by no means a fast. Let me say that one more time to really drive the point home; feasting is not fasting! Juice feasting programs are designed to provide our bodies with superior nutrition while cleansing them from the inside out.
Juice feasting provides our bodies with an abundance of unadulterated pure delicious nutrition while detoxing our bodies at the very same time.
Most folks feel great while feasting as their bodies probably haven't had so much pure nutrition since they were nursed as babies.
Juice fasting certainly does clean you out; but it usually leaves you feeling depleted and deprived as fasting is about deprivation.
Fasting involves taking in incredibly limited amounts of calories through juice which, in my opinion is completely counter productive. When our bodies are not receiving a sufficient amount of calories and nutrients, our metabolism slows down, our energy plummets, and our bodies literally go into starvation mode. Maybe things are different for the fasting monks high in the Himalayas, but for us average everyday folks, let's be real, it's just not that easy! If you've ever done a fast you know how difficult it is to function and thrive in your daily routine. Who wants to feel like that when you can juice feast and feel awakened, renewed, and alive?
Personally, I do a one day juice feast every Sunday and a 7 or 14 day feast at the change of seasons. How long a person feasts is best determined on an individual basis, but should involve a consultation with a health care provider if you plan to feast longer than a week; especially if you've never fasted or feasted before.
For newbie feasters, I suggest taking baby steps at first. Commit to a one week feast and if you feel good and want to continue, great! You can feast for another a week and so on and so on! In fact, you can feast for up 4 months!
If you've never tried a juice feast, try one! Start with a day, a three day, or even a 7 day. And why not try it now? You and your body will be eternally grateful with the whole new happier healthier post feast you!
