subject: Ferry Phuket To Phi Phi Is Worth Visiting [print this page]

The Ferry Phuket was much nicer than the Ferry Phuket to Phi Phi. Better seats and there were even outlets! It was a nice change to see lots of Korean tourists onboard. There were Asian tourists on Koh Phi Phi but the majorities are Caucasian. We arrive half an hour earlier to get good seats. People kept trying to save seats using their towels and bags. If you are going to save the seat at least sit in it during the Ferry Phuket ride.

Everyone weve asked said Phuket wasnt appeal visiting. They said Phuket town had nothing to do and its just a stop over town if youre headed someplace else in the morning. I could see how if this was your only destination in Thailand youre better off visiting another city, but for us, since weve traveled a bit through Thailand previously, its a nice change.

What initially brought us to Phuket were 2 restaurants I saw on Bizarre Foods that I wanted to try. (We also decided wed fly to Chiang Mai from here). Unfortunately, I was only able to visit one of the 2 restaurants since the other was too far north for us to get to. Cab didnt seem worth it from Phuket town. Were on a shoestring budget after all.

Feeding Time

Aside from hitting up the night market and tasting different desserts plus dishes there, we did get to eat at a few places on the Phukets top ten list of local restaurants too. I liked how large this night market was as well as the variety of Thai food & dessert (We wanted a break from Thai pancakes)

Local Spots

We tried Khao Man Gai (chicken on rice) on Ko Ta Khao Man Gai restaurant. The chicken was tender and the sauce was yummy, sweet and salty.

Exploring Old Town

Old Phuket town was a little walk from our hotel. There were art galleries and shops all over the place. But probably for the reason that it was a Sunday, many of them were closed. While exploring, we found a temple with different quotes hanging in the trees and some cute Temple Cats!

Later than 2 full days in Phuket it was time to say goodbye.

We decided to pass on a visit to Pattong (night club/bar area that tourists generally visit Phuket for), no complaints here. We took the airport bus for a economical 85 baht to the airport about an hour away. Absolutely beats paying for an overpriced cab. We booked an Air Asia (yay Air Asia) flight from Phuket to Chiang Mai only some days before.

The flight was a delayed by half an hour but nothing most important. I slept through the entire flight furthermore when I opened my eyes we were landing in Chiang Mai.

About 6 Lanterns could be seen floating in the sky. Ferry Phuket travel was Beautiful.
