subject: Innovative Reading Choices And How To Get An Audible Free Trial [print this page]

The advent of the Web and new devices has introduced new ways to read, many of which were not possible just a couple years ago. Below, I will be taking a look at some of the many ways to read various material. In addition, I will offer up a way for you to obtain an Audible free trial should you choose to try out some audio books.

eReaders have not been around all that long, but already, they appear to be catching on in popularity among different segments of the population. Devices like Kindle, Nook, and iPads can be frequently spotted at cafes and libraries. I myself decided to get myself a Kindle recently when I realized that my books are beginning to take up too much space. If you read a lot like I do, you often end up with many bookshelves full of books. As an owner of a Kindle, I will no longer have to deal with that, and can be assured I am not killing trees when I buy new books either.

Another benefit of eReaders is the fact that you may read newspapers and magazines, on top of books. But it's not all fun and games, as I found out that reading some publications on eReaders is not very easy, making it necessary to zoom and move around the page in a somewhat cumbersome manner. As well, the selection of magazines you can get is still a bit limited, although I suspect this will change soon. Sometimes, the publications purchased on an eReader will be more pricey than the paper version. This is not always the case, but given that they don't need to print the news on paper and deliver it to you, I would think the price should be much lower.

One major benefit, however, is that you have the ability to get ebooks from the local library, given your library has this service available. Fortunately, I live near a library system that allows people to check out ebooks. Much like normal library books, you will often find that the better, more popular books will be checked out. Therefore, if you can afford it, buying books is still the better way to go.

The other great way you can enjoy books is by using a service known as Audible. Using this service, you can download audio books and listen to them on many different devices you probably already own. As a member, you can purchase titles at a bargain. Membership also entitles you to a free title every month. The best way to see what this service has to offer is by getting an Audible free trial offer. I did not always favor audio books in the past. But these days, given that you can listen to them if you have a cell phone, I think they are adaptable enough to be a great choice for most people.
