Disney World is the best place on earth for kids and adults alike - take it from me, a Disney aficionado and self proclaimed adult. I love the place just as much now as a twenty-something multi-business owner as I did when I was nine years old. So whether you're traveling with a group of friends or with your your spouse and kids, here's my list of things not to miss when you're going to Disney World as an adult.
Disney Hollywood Studios - This park is seriously cool and it has some thrill rides that adults love. If you love movies, Hollywood or glitz and glamour this is the place for you. It's a great place to buy movie or movie star memorabilia and eat at some great restaurants. And of course, don't forget to check out the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster before you leave. (These two rides coincidentally also happen to be on my top 3 list of things not to miss at Disney World). This park will convince you that themes are not just for kids anymore.
Amazing Restaurants - Disney does everything top quality so it's hard to pick just a handful of great restaurants. But, if you want some adult time AND great food, go for a "date" with your friends or significants others at the Sci Fi Drive In dinner theater. The waitresses are on rollerskates, you eat in the back of an old style car, the restaurant is themed like a drive-in movie AND the food is great and affordable. Another one of my faves is the Hawaiian Luau dinner show. You won't know if you're in Florida or Hawaii, you get unlimited amounts of food for a reasonable price and the show is seriously impressive. Adults and kids seem to love that one.
The Boardwalk - Disney doesn't just have theme parks and water parks. They also have a boardwalk, old Atlantic City style. You can get your fortune read, buy taffy, eat at great restaurants, grab a cocktail and even ride a two or four seater bike. Not to mention the beautiful view. If you're looking for a relaxed day or evening, this is the place to be. And as always, it's clean and happy just like everything else Disney.
Pleasure Island - This is Disney's theme park for adults. With seven clubs, live bands and cocktail waitresses walking around with jello shooters, all the adults in your party will love Pleasure Island. If you're staying at a Disney Hotel the bus will take you to and from Pleasure Island, so you won't even have to worry about driving. How can you beat that?
