subject: Going To Thrift Stores [print this page] When one is going shopping for new school clothes, or something new to wear to a friend's party, or even a nicer holiday meal, they tend to make their way over to the mall with the hottest new stores, or to the outlet malls where all the extra clothes from the hottest new stores are slightly cheaper. However, if one actually wants the best deal around town, then they have to ask themselves how dedicated they are willing to be to their new wardrobe, to their new ensemble? If the answer is very dedicated, then you do not need to over pay for clothes any longer, you just need to get over to your local area's thrift stores and pronto.
There will be plenty of people out there who are particularly skeptical about what one is able to find in the aisles of thrift stores. They see such places as the closets of those who have passed, but the truth of the matter is actually very different than this.
However, on the inside, you will find there is every style that was ever known to every decade just waiting to bust out. After all, thrift stores are where people usually bring their own clothes that no longer fit, are just sick of being work, or don't fit their current look. That means your clothes could just be waiting in the piles like everyone else, only this time around you may get that whole wardrobe you were after for a few bucks as opposed to a few thousand.
Now perhaps you are thinking that mall clothes are so great because they are so new, fresh scents, fresh fabric, and thrift stores are the opposite.
For example, one can easily have their new items dry cleaned at a local cleaners, or just use a special remedy at home to get a new scent into what they have. Either way, you are going to get a good, clean product for the right price.
Additionally, if one really wants to impress then they should actually pick up the trade of sewing!
When one learns such a valuable skill, they employ themselves with the ability to redesign clothes, to mend good fabrics, and to add a new color to a dress maybe they really like, but wasn't going well with anything they already owned. In these cases, having the ability to sew will really open the door to everything you are getting ready to put on come Monday morning or Saturday night.
A lot of times, thrift stores can be seen as a time machine, transporting you to fashion fads gone by. Fads that will no doubt return in another cycle of life, but in the mean time are just hanging around. Don't let that be the case much longer, spend a buck or two and give new meaning to a lost style everyone will be jealous of. It is a feat both the eye and the wallet can jump on board with, we promise.
