subject: Different Types Of Fire Guards [print this page]

Fire guards are a great toll to have in your home to protect people and your home from the dangers of a real fire. Also known as fire screens, these devices can help you be able to enjoy the benefits and the beauty of a real and open fire safely and effectively without the stress of danger.

The fire screens can also add a beautiful look to your fire place or fire area when it is not in use. There are many different types of fire screens and they also come in various shapes and sizes. You may want to do some research on these items before making your purchase to find out just which one will be the best fit for you and your particular situation. You can also find out which one you like the look of as well.

To start off with, fire guards can come in a very simple and inexpensive black screen look that is just flat and covers the opening of the fireplace. These will be available in different lengths to fit the various sizes of fireplaces that are out there. There are many different sizes of fireplaces in peoples homes as well as in offices, hotels, restaurants, lodges and other areas. Each has its own unique features and will need a particular kind of fire screen to work best with it.

From the basic model you can move up to a more decorative, but still quite basic and inexpensive model that will have a brass trim at the top and on the handle or something such as this. These add a little decorative touch without driving up the price too much.

The next level of fire guards will be when you get into the different shaped guards. They may fit across the sides of the fireplace and then come out extending in the front to for a sort of shell around the front opening. They may also come in the basic look or the basic trim models, but will be a little more costly than the flat screens. This type, however, does stand on its own and offer more stability and is more user friendly.

Next you will find the fire screens that come in different patterns. They may be in a scroll or other pattern. They may also come in the basic black color or come with the brass or pewter colored trim and handles.

Whichever fire screen you decide to go with, you will probably be much happier with it than without since it can guard you and your family and your carpets from sparks.
