Use Time not Money
Use Time not Money

The trick to many money saving techniques is time. By allocating a few extra hours each week to your plight you can save tens of not hundreds of pounds every month. The beauty is most money saving tips can be done as you relax, either unwinding in the kitchen after a long day, or with your feet up watching your favourite shows on the TV.

Think Again

Many people are averse to using discount vouchers as they feel embarrassed producing them at the till, however now with the internet you can shop online and enter the codes at the end of your shop. This leaves peers none the wiser and you with extra pounds in your pocket. Shopping online can be dangerous if you dont stick to your list, however many sites now show all the daily deals and special offers on a separate page allowing you save money on almost any grocery item.

Be Generous

There is quite a stigma attached to buying clothes at a charity shop however this works in your favour. I find it astounding that people will pay more money for clothes of poor quality that last only weeks just because they are brand new. However charity shops allow even the most budget conscious of us to buy brands we wouldnt be able to afford direct from the High Street, made with quality materials that will last a lifetime if washed correctly. You can also set up a swap with friends, as many of us fluctuate in weight, friends will be more than happy to swap items of clothes for nearly new items that youve grown out of. Theres also a lovely peace of mind when you know that by bagging a bargain youre also helping to donate to the charities that need it the most.

Get the Snip

A pair of scissors is an invaluable tool if you want to save money on your favourite cosmetics and luxury items. You will be surprised when you begin just how much product you would normally throw away. Snipping open foundation tubes, conditioner bottles and facial wash will reveal a good tenth of the product that would normally be destined for the bin.

Add Oil or Vinegar

Olive oil, baby oil and vinegar are all staples households cant live without however they are also brilliant for making food and cosmetics last longer. Adding a little baby oil to mascara will prolong the life by up to a month, whereas vinegar will allow condiments to stretch further. Olive oil although used in cooking a lot is also great as a massage oil, used for centuries it is the main ingredient for many eczema creams and lotions and just a few drops go a very long way.
