subject: A Good Party Is Powered By Party Supplies [print this page] At first glance, party suppliesmay seem like nothing more than frivolous, colorful little extras at a given party. But the fact is, having the right party supplies can make or break even the most well intentioned soiree. Close your eyes and try to imagine a party with no supplies. Guests would enter a party area devoid of decorations; no banners, pennants, columns, signs or scene setters to illuminate the room, getting everyone in the party mood and brightening the occasion.
Then they would sit down to a table devoid of plates, serving dishes, cutlery, cups, and napkins; a state of affairs that would make it impossible for them to enjoy the many tasty treats and refreshments served at the party, unless of course the menu consists entirely of finger foods.
They would also have limited options when it comes to activities to be enjoyed at the celebration, since everything from party dance music CDs to printable party games, party hats, noisemakers, DVDs, and party leis all count as party supplies. And last of all, when the guests are ready to go home at the end of the less than enjoyable party, they wouldn't have any gifts or party favors to take with them as mementos of the good time they had.
Party supplies are crucial and integral to every celebration. Although not every type or category of party supply is right for each type of party. Whistles and kazoos, for example, would make the perfect party supplies at a children's party, but perhaps not at a retirement or formal office function. An adult joke book would fit in perfectly at a bachelorette or bachelor party, but would have no place at a family or senior-oriented celebration.
Rainbow or neon-colored construction paper links and loudly colored tulle banners would be cool for a child or teen's party, but not for a senior person (unless, perhaps, that person lived through the 60s). Also, some party supplies would only be appropriate for at one particular occasion; a decked out Christmas tree would only be appropriate at a Christmas or Yuletide celebration, while cut outs of decorated eggs would fit in at an Easter celebration.
Guests would be rather confused if there were a big carved jack-o-lantern sitting in the middle of the party table at a Veterans Day party, but would be delighted to see it at a Halloween or fall-themed party. Party supplies are an element of the party that cannot be replaced; and the host should be picky when it comes to which supplies she wants to use at different parties.
