subject: Cambridge Chilli Farm - Hot Sauces [print this page] Cambridge Chilli Farm started a couple of years ago and has been going from strength to strength ever since thanks to the dedication of the man behind the name: Tim Murphy.
Tim is such a sound person and now personal friend that it is hard sometimes to remain impartial when it comes to his products but thanks to many reviews received from our varied customers at the Devil's Garden we can certainly give you an honest opinion as to great hot sauces such as Cambridge Chilli Farm Naga Napalm, Cambridge Chilli Farm Smokey Chipotle and of course the notorious Cambridge Chilli Farm Ghost Pepper 10.
CCF Ghost Pepper 10 chilli sauce got a lot of praises in the chilli world from the moment it was introduced to the market as it is a real achievement to be able to create such a hot (and we mean HOT!) chilli sauce only using natural ingredients and absolutely no chilli extract. Tim got it entirely right by using 10 Naga Morish (known for their pungency) per bottle hence the great name of Ghost Pepper 10.
Tim was clever enough not to rest on his laurels and rest all of his hopes on the success of Ghost Pepper 10 chilli sauce like other brands do. Instead he promoted other great hot sauces such as Cambridge Chilli Farm Sweet Chilli Sauce. Not only is it radically different from Ghost Pepper 10, it is also a very accomplished hot sauce that is enticing by its colour alone. And more than that. It is now impossible to track the number of times friends and family members have asked us what the great condiment they were being served was. A lot of them were very surprised to hear that they had just handled the fruity but notoriously fiery scotch bonnet chilli pepper. That is what good craftsmanship can and should do: allow you to take new paths that would at first seem impracticable.
The same phenomenon occured with Cambridge Chilli Farm Naga Napalm chilli sauce and this time we didn't have to look far away from home for compliments as some members of the Devil's Garden team love the Naga chilli pepper while others are not all that keen as they find it a tad bitter. Well to the great surprise of these doubters, not only did they like Cambridge Chilli Farm Naga Napalm but it actually made them revise their original opinion of this most used of chillies.
Two more chilli sauces from Cambridge Chilli Farm didn't need such introspection though. We just knew that Cambridge Chilli Farm Lemon Drop Hot Sauce and Cambridge Chilli Farm Smokey Chipotle Hot Sauce would be instant winners not only with us but also with our clientele.
One of these chilli sauces we tried and of course stocked as soon as we could is Cambridge Chilli Farm Lemon Drop. This is not an average hot sauce and don't we love Cambridge Chilli Farm for it. This is a rather liquid sauce that finds itself at its best in cocktails and added to sauces (or drizzled on fish fingers!). This is a sauce which is made with 50% content of Aji Limon chilli peppers, making it a citrusy sauce but not an acidic one.
Cambridge Chilli Farm Smokey Chipotle Hot Sauce is one of many chilli sauces using the smoked jalapeno otherwise known as chipotle as a main ingredient. The difference though is that Cambridge Chilli Farm shrewdly used the other components of the sauce, balancing everything so cleverly that it is now a little gem in itself and one that we would highly recommend to anybody.
We could say many more things about Cambridge Chilli Farm s products and overall goodness but sometimes silence is golden. We'd rather let your tastebuds do the talking.
