Solar home cost is largely dependent on the kind of home a person has or is planning to build. Bigger homes require bigger energy consumption. Hence, there will be a need to install more solar panels and other equipment for the capture of solar energy and turning the same into power for the use of the various appliances that man needs to survive. Expense can also vary depending upon the kind of machine one decides to use to convert the sun's energy.

Overall, the building of a solar home can be considered expensive at the start. However, such an expense is only at the beginning considering that these expenses are connected with the construction of the house and furnishing the same with the needed equipment for the conversion of the sun's rays into solar energy. After the initial expense, the homeowner can start harvesting the fruits of his labor considering that he will no longer have to worry about his electricity bills. More importantly, the homeowner becomes energy independent with the added bonus of becoming environment friendly.
