subject: Disney Princess Birthday Party [print this page] When my daughter turned four, she was positive that she wanted a Disney Princess party (other than when she decided she might like a Hello Kitty party or a Tinkerbell party anyway!). She wanted to invite practically all her buddies from playschool - practically totally females. I did feel a bit sorry for her younger brother, who came dressed as Dopey, and the lone pirate. I did not wish to expend an excessive amount of funds, but wanted my daughter to get a fabulous and memorable birthday party. The party seemed to go rather well, so listed below are my Disney Princess birthday party thoughts available for you to utilise if they can be of any use.
Snow White is my daughter's favoured character so most of the decorations were crimson in lieu of pink to coordinate with the Snow White decorations. An incredible product I identified was the Snow White scene add on. These are meant to be stuck with blu-tack (or anything comparable) to a picture background, however I found that they effortlessly stuck by means of static and that i could stick them particularly effortlessly onto the outer door and within the hall we hired as a location.
As the majority of the party invitees ended up being females (who seem to be far more suited to sitting still than males!) I had a number of different activities for them entertain them when they turned up. I identified some crown templates and acquired loads of sticky jewels along with other coloured sticky shapes so they could make their very own princess tiaras. As well as that there was Disney Princess colouring plus a close friend very kindly assisted by doing some face painting too. This kept the little ones out of mischief for a good forty five minutes!
I began the party games by encouraging the kids to find a misplaced princess slipper. None of the guests had come dressed as Cinderella so we had to be satisfied with getting Snow White's slipper, nevertheless it still happened to make a great initial game. A fairly big hit was kiss the frog, an replacement for pin the tail on the donkey. I drew a big frog onto some lining paper - I copied an image from the Princess and the Frog movie, but any alternative frog would work. Then each of the little ones got to stick a pair of sticky lips as near to the frogs lips as they were able to, with their eyes closed. I did wonder about putting lip colour on them and having them to really kiss the frog, but I wasn't sure how all of the mothers and fathers would feel about this.
Then the little ones ate their party tea. As a secret activity I had a bowl of apples for the childen to pick from, only one among which was crimson. Whoever chose the crimson apple won a prize for saving Snow White from the poisoned apple. After consuming a handful of sandwiches and some fruit and extensive quantities of fairy cakes covered in edible glitter they were all set for some more fun. I considered it best to follow the eating with a sitting down game so it was time for pass the parcel. And finally we finished with a 'Belle' of the ball competition to find the best dancers. They all jumped and twirled and danced along to tunes from Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Princess and the Frog etc. And then happily went home with their Disney Princess party bags.
