subject: How Carbs Can Help You Lose Weight [print this page]

When it comes to losing weight there are a lot of different options a person can try out from diet pills, new exercises or many other different things. One way to help you lose weight is by eating the right amount and type of carbs that helps your body shed those pounds. Most of you are probably thinking right now that this can't be true, well you're right in a sense. The kind of carbs I'm talking about is Resistant Starch. There have been many studies conducted that show that these type of carbs like beans, grains, and legumes help you eat less, burn more calories while still giving you the energy to last through the day.

Eating the right carbs fill you up and help you control your hunger. Fiber and Resistant Starch helps to fill you up and satisfy your hunger while still allowing you to eat the foods you crave. These types of carbs also raise levels of satiety hormones that informs your brain to flip a switch that stifles hunger and turns up metabolism.

Also carbs high in Resistant Starch can help increase your metabolism and other natural fat burners. When Resistant Starch travels in your digestive system, it discharges fatty acids that helps fat burning, especially in your stomach.

These fatty acids help maintain muscle mass which in return stokes your metabolism helping you lose weight faster. In one research study they were able to test this by fattening up two groups of rats, feeding one group food that was low in Resistant Starch. From the study they were able to see that the rats that ate the Resistant Starch were able to lose the weight faster than the other group of rats that didn't.

This just goes to show you the by eating the right food it can really help you shed the few extra pounds you need to fit in that swimsuit this summer or those jeans you haven't worn since high school. You don't have to starve yourself or give up the types of food that you love, you just need to be more smart about what you eat.
