subject: How To Allow Membership And Member Registration On Your Weblog [print this page]

Click on the Network Admin hyperlink at the top of the Dashboard and then click the Settings menu link. The Settings page loads in your browser window.

In the Registration Settings part, select the User Accounts Might Be Registered option. This permits users to register on your network, assigns them to the main site as a Subscriber, but doesn't permit them to create a brand new web site of their own.

Click the Save Modifications button at the backside of the page. Each sites and user accounts could be registered on the Community Admin Settings page; you have allowed customers to register a brand new account and given them the choice to create a brand new site in your network.

When signing up, customers are directed to the primary site of the set up and then added to one of many baby sites. This website could also be their website (in the event that they select to have a site when registering) or an current site. If it's any existing website apart from the principle web site, the person must be manually added to that website by the community admin, or the person who owns the positioning (in case you have enabled the option underneath the Network Admin Settings to allow site admins to add new customers to their sites).

Being new to WP, I'm attempting to enable the setting that can enable guests to register and create their very own account. For the life of me, I cannot find this setting. I've appeared across the Boards, Support web page and Google. Nothing. On Google I noticed a post where someone was stating that I might set this setting in WP admin > Choices > General. The problem is that the UI appears to be changed. I cannot find Options in WP admin.

I've simply seen that when I sign off and try to register as a user I get a message saying "Person registration is at present not allowed." Admin - seetings - basic > make sure you've checked "anybody can register"
