Conferences are symposiums where active exchange of ideas takes place. There are both national as well as international conferences and these can be held on various subjects. This holds true whether the participant is one of many participants at a conference or the main speaker or keynote speaker. In the latter case the importance of confidence and talent assumes added importance.

Conferences are of various types and can have participants from many different backgrounds. Being a conference speaker denotes wide spread subject knowledge as well as the ability to play with ideas. The individual must have substance to participate in a conference. Conferences are helping to focus attention on specific problems and issues. A conference speaker thus gets the opportunity to air his views as well as hear others ideas. There is a mutual exchange of ideas and thoughts that goes on. Being an effective Conference speaker also requires having the gift of the gab or being good at communication. It is not only about having ideas but also about being able to communicate them effectively. This holds true whatever maybe the subject of a conference. It also holds true of other types of speakers such as being an inspirational speaker or motivational speaker. The diversity of possibilities that emerge from conferences can be gauged by the various topics that such conferences can be held on. These range from the serious to the not-so-serious. Some conferences can even be beneficial in guiding the individual in day to day life. An example are conferences held on the therapeutic benefits of laughter, mind and body topics as well as healing through self help topics.

Conferences help focus concentration in a manner that casual conversation cannot. Ideally they might even effectively steer decision making, whether the agenda is effective governance or something as simple as leading a joyful life through laughter despite whatever problems the individual might have. The beneficial effects of such therapy are visible as it reduces stress and helps people lead effective and meaningful lives by preventing sickness.
