The following are what I resolved in my innermost soul, and it was basing our fresh experience as new spirit hungry Christians.
We viewed and have learned the minimal availability of good mentoring, discipleship study manuals and detailed programs that would implement growth and properly consolidate new Christian mentors and disciples as quick as possible,
As a result of the vision, our first hand experiences and the question God had posed to me, "what does revival look like?" I commenced to seek God and asked myself, "what can I do to prepare for the upcoming harvest?" In earnest I began to seek for a good discipleship study program that could "clean up' the baggage that new converts carry with them from the kingdom of darkness. At this period of time we were co-leading Intercessors for Melbourne and we attended a 4 day training program for intercessors led by a world renowned Prayer Team Church Leader whose church was in expanding revival in the USA. During the training, she made a quick remark, "all our Intercessors must go through Cleansing Streams before they can take part in the Intercessory Prayer Team in their church." Immediately within my spirit, the words rose, "that is what I have been looking for!"
From that point, I began to search for this program.
Well, after much finding, I found the publisher of the Cleansing Streams program and one evening I mentioned in our home group that I had found the publisher of the Cleansing Stream program and immediately 18 people wanted to participate in the study} with us. To cut a long story short, we finished the 20 week program, engaged in the ministry weekend and witnessed the lives of 18 people transformed. God spoke to us and told us to bring the ministry to the Church in Australia. It was spirit filled times, the miracles, the sustenance of God for the trip to USA, the publishing, the relations we made, the growth etc. and from 1998 to December 2000 we saw some 150 churches get involved and approximately 3-4000 people in Australia and New Zealand underwent the course. But, as good as it was, I could see that people needed more, that we caught the Christian where they were at in their walk with God. It was based on understanding that they presently had some ideas of God and His Word, and at the end of the 20 weeks, the small groups and fellowships that had started were stopped, plus some were in need of further ministry, yet we had no further input or sources, so, once again I started talking with God. Well, sometimes God answers in queer ways.
God provided an answer to my prayer in 2000 with two very unexpected events. First, in August 2000, through a prophetic word which at the time I did not completely comprehend. Second, in December 2000, we were completely removed from the ministry. We loved the ministry of Cleansing Streams, but God had a bigger plan.
It was after these events that we began to pray on how to continue and the Growing Deep and Strong Series thought was borne in my heart. I will expound on my next article.
