subject: How Can I Burn Fat? [print this page]

Everyone has his own idea about slimming down and burning fat. Some articles declare doing cardio workouts will not will not let you get your slim figure you are looking for, there are some people who aver that weight lifting and spot reduction is not going to do it either. How do we truly know correct method to burn fat?

In my opinion, it is not at all possible to find that perfect method. Even every doctor you visit, will have a different opinion. They will usually advise you to go for brisk walks in order to burn fat. I also think that it is very good advice. It's not too stressful on your muscles, you will still be able to move the next day, without any limping. The tracks in your local school are the best for walking, they are softer than the asphalt on the roadways or sidewalks. Less stress on the joints. Since not everyone can have access to a track, the sidewalks and roads are it. You can walk on a treadmill, but they are not as interesting as walking outdoors. Plus outside you can take a partner with you. Treadmills are lonely affairs. They do come in handy on rainy days or if you live in an area like I do where we have winter. Walking on ice is dangerous, so the treadmill comes up then.

Just exercise alone won't shape your figure into the hour glass you dream to have. It is surely not a fast method. Along with exercise you also need to eat proper foods to help you burn fat. I just read the other day that eating grapefruit with a protein some how accelerates the fat burning process. It's something to take a note of. I do like grapefruit.

Keeping a watch on the carbohydrates you have on your plate is a good place to start. If you are eating potatoes, corn and bread with only a small portion of meat with it, it is a meal, very high in carbohydrates and can add fat to your body over time. The french fries along with sandwich that we have as a meal, is simply too much overloaded with carbohydrates in one single meal. Even a lot of your cereals are full of carbohydrates. I am not saying that carbohydrates are bad, but with economy being in poor health and the people trying to stretch the meals and dollars, most of us are adding noodles and potatoes as big fillers to the menu. How many people will make mac and cheese dinners? I know of people who feed that to their children to fill them up. Eat that a couple of times a week and then wonder why the children are fat. You will actually find that eating a balanced diet is as reasonable as eating a lot of carbohydrates. Eating proteins make you feel full faster.

Carbohydrates, proteins , fruits and vegetables all have an important spot on your plate. The carbohydrates give you energy. As long as you don't eat so many that you cannot use up the energy and it goes to fat. Proteins help you in building muscles, fruits and vegetables give you vitamins you need. Then there is the dairy too which is also important but does not need to be over done. I do use cottage cheese a bit in place of potatoes at times. You need to ensure and try to and add something from all types of food groups to your meal.

Eating right and exercise will help you burn fat. That is how people always use to do it. It's time to get back to basics.
