subject: Moving Tips 101 [print this page]

Are you making preparations to move? Do you feel overwhelmed? Yes, you may have a lot on your plate. However, it does not have to be so overwhelming! We are going to give you basics about topics such where to begin and moving pods. It is completely possible to get this done and get this done right! Not only that, but you can get it done cheaply!

The first big step:

One of the best tips I can give someone that is planning on moving in the near future is to go through their belongings and decide what is necessary to go with them to the next place they live or not. We all tend to collect things we do not really need and even some things we do not really want. There are ways to get rid of these things and make a profit, should they be suitable to sell. You can take earnings from having a garage/yard sale and put it towards the moving expenses that come about. Or you can donate all unneeded items to thrift stores and charities. You can at least get a tax cut out of this, for sure.

Since the stuff has been long gone by now, you need to figure out how many boxes you are going to need as well as moving trucks or pods. You can get moving boxes easily and for free by simply looking around. If you want this move to go smoothly, running out of the needed materials is not going to fly.

Tell me what I need?

This is common sense, but you are going to need boxes and boxing tape. To protect the more fragile items, you are going to need both newspaper and bubble wrap. This adds protection that way everything can get to your new home safely. Please make sure to have what you need before starting the project. Having everything in order is always beneficial.

Any important equipment?

The types of equipment needed depend on how you want to handle your move. If you feel like you want to hire movers, they are going to have their own moving equipment. If you want to rent your own moving trucks and pods, this will allow for you to make sure that you and your helpers are the ones that are taking care of your valuables. You can even rent pods that you can have dropped off where ever you need it and also have it picked up when you are done.

We are here, time to move!

Moving day seems like a big task, but with the best support team set upit should go pretty smoothly. I always say the best way to save money through a move is to enlist help from friends and family. Order some sort of food (pizza works, always), rent some moving pods, and get it started. This is the most relaxing way to go about it.
