subject: An 80s Party Is Great Fun When You Begin With Great Invitations And Party Supplies [print this page]

The '80s was a great decadeThe '80s was a great decade. Music changed, via Madonna and Michael Jackson, and so did the manner of dress. Many people copied Madonna's signature looks, including big bangled bracelets, flared skirts with tights and little boots, and headbands worn a whole new way.

Maybe the 80s party invitations should have Madonna on the front of them for inspiration. Even though the invitation may not say that it is a costume party, it might indicate that 1980's attire is desired, or something like that. The invite also might encourage them to bring any '80s tunes they have and love. The more, the better, since there were so many new and exciting stars, along with a few older ones that stuck around through the 1980's, as well.

The Thriller album was probably one of the most important and popular albums of the time. Vogue was also on top of the list. Music videos, for their part, were a novelty. It might be a great idea to let guests know that you will be trying to create a music video using these or other songs, and they are all going to be the stars.

On your list of 80s party supplies, other activities might be considered, like games. Be sure to pick up prizes to hand out to game winners. Simple prizes are great to let your guests remember the fun time they had at this event. Also be sure to provide plentiful party favors. Dressing up the party room for an 80s party is easy if you include photos of the stars of the time. Music stars, movie stars and various other memorabilia from the 1980s decade will be hanging on the walls to create the atmosphere needed to remember those days.

Be creative with a centerpiece for the buffet table, as well. This way anything you put around it will be inviting and delectable. Try an assortment of various appetizers. Variety is the key to ensuring that every guest goes home happy. There can be finger sandwiches of all different sorts, wedges of pizza with different toppings on them, salads, crackers, fruits, nuts, and desserts. A food for every taste should be served. And in this way you will not disappoint anyone. Consider the crowd of guests, their ages, their likes and dislikes, whether some may be vegetarians, or not, and so on. By paying heed to all tastes and preferences, you will ensure that all guests leave the party with '80s smiles on their faces.
