subject: How To Choose The Best Hotels In The Dominican Republic For A Fun Holiday [print this page]

Last time me and the girls went on a girly escape we headed to the Dominican Republic for what turned out to be one of the most affordable and fun getaways we had ever experienced. This brings me to the reason why I want to share the best tips to enjoy fun Dominican Republic holidays that are also cost-effective if you know which hotels to stay at.

First you have to know which resorts in the Dominican Republic have the cheapest hotels without compromising on quality and level of service. The Dominican Republic has several popular beach resorts offering sun, beach, relaxation and fun activities for the whole travelling party, whether you plan to go with your family, a group of friends or your partner.

But if you go to Bavaro for example, chances are that your holiday with turn out a tad more expensive than if you head to Punta Cana for example, one of the cheapest resorts home to some of the most affordable hotels in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana caters well for tourists and has some of the Dominicans most spectacular beaches brimming with coral life, some of which have been defined by UNESCO as among the worlds most beautiful beaches. Likewise hotels in Puerto Plata are also quite affordable and the region offers a more authentic Dominican feel, as this is the place that most locals head to for their holiday breaks and a great place to visit with many shops, bars, open-air restaurants and brightly painted, picturesque Caribbean houses. This is the place to fully taste the real flavour of the Dominican Republic and learn how to dance merengue and bachata with the locals (try it, we did and its lots of fun!).

So now that weve narrowed down your resort options to two: Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, the time has come for me to present you with some of the best hotels in both resorts. In Punta Cana you can take your pick from the Barcelo Punta Cana Resort and Spa Casino and the Be Live Grand Punta Cana, both of which are equally outstanding five-star all inclusive properties, and I speak from personal experience when I say theyre really amazing and offer a great deal of fun activities and entertainment. Alternatively, if youre all for eco-friendly travel you can go to the Blau Natura Park Beach Eco Resort and Spa, equally beautiful and within the same price range (I havent stayed there but Ive been in it and its a gorgeous property). In Puerto Plata, but I would recommend the Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort and Spa and the Barcelo Puerto Plata as choices. Whichever of them you pick you really cant go wrong; price-wise and fun-wise!
