subject: Largest Irish Managed Print Services Conference A Big Success [print this page] The success of the largest Managed Print and IT Services Conference ever staged in Ireland exceeded the expectations of the organisers, Bryan S Ryan. Called simply Convergence, the event drew more than 150 participants, including some from abroad.
Speaking afterwards at Dublins iconic Convention Centre, Bryan S Ryan CEO Brian Whyte described the conference as a huge success, saying it will prove to be a landmark event for the industry.
He praised the support of the conference partners, particularly event co-hosts ComputerScope, and thanked exhibitors Canon, Kyocera and Citrix.
The half-day conference opened with a presentation called A World Picture of MPS, delivered by Steven Swift, Senior Consultant at imaging specialist Photizo Group.
Next, the IT Director from a leading international hedge fund administrator, shared some insights and lessons from his experience with MPS and document management in the context of Managed IT Services.
He was followed by Carey Bowden of Citrix, who spoke about the cloud and on issues arising from the bring your own device ethos.Convergence Speakers
Following a lively Q&A session, the events second half was opened by Google Irelands Country Manager, Shane Nolan, who gave delegates an overview of MPS user trends and business opportunities.
Rounding off the roll of guest speakers, Bill Cullen of The Apprentice TV show fame said that, while Ireland had progressed hugely in recent years, in todays difficult economy businesses needed to work even harder and smarter.
A second Q&A session was followed by a light lunch aimed at enabling delegates to concentrate on some useful executive networking.
Photizos Steven Swift later described Convergence as a well-planned and focused event notable for its compressed yet highly informative sessions. Expressing appreciation for the networking opportunities, he also noted that the venue and timeframe were extremely efficient for those with busy schedules.
The Convergence the Managed Print and IT Services Conference was the first in a series of events planned and hosted by Bryan S Ryan with the aim of fostering MPS growth and educating existing and potential clients.
