subject: Apple Claims New Ipad Battery Charging Is Not A Bug [print this page]

Recently the new ipad is wildly criticized for the battery charging issues. It is found that Apple is shortchanging new iPad owners on battery power. Apple responds to the doubts and criticism today and claims that the new ipad is charging perfectly normal.

The new ipad is found not fully charged when the charging indicator first shows 100%. If users stop charging now, then the ipad would get like 90% of the battery power and lose battery life like an hour or so. Of course you cant find any manufactures wholesale ipad accessories to fix that issue. Hoever, if users ignore the indicator and continue to charge the ipad with the wall outlet, then the remaining 10% of running time would eventually added as the charge is slowly trickled to the tablet. But some users doubt if that would damage the battery life of ipad.

And rumors go further about the battery life. Some said the ipad cannot standby for 10 hours as Apple claimed. The crisper Retina Display would needs more battery power and the 4G network would also be another battery life drainer. Now that the ipad cant even get fully charged and the battery life Apple promised would shrink

On Tuesday, Apple responded to the issue and claimed that the ipad battery charging is just perfectly normal. There may be some misunderstandings though. Apple says there may be some confusion about the way ipad charging with a wall socket. When ipad gets nearly 100% power when charging, the indicator would show fully charged. And at the same time, the battery actually continues to charge all the way to 100 percent. But if users continue the charging, it would decharge a little, then charge back up fully, then back down again, and so on until the user unplugs the tablet.

According to Michael Tchao from Apple, "That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like. It's a great feature that's always been in iOS."

There. It always been in iOS, which means the previous ipad, iphone, ipod are managed the same way. Users just never noticed. And Apple never shows this to users because they thought it would confuse the users.

And the battery life can last for ten hours because the new ipad is using a 42.5 watt battery, which is large for a laptop. The battery of the previous ipad is just 25watt. And it is possible for the new ipad to last for ten hours just as Apple promised, as long as you cut the screen brightness to 50%. With full brightness, the retina display really drains the battery fast.
