A great way to recycle popsicle sticks is to let your Sunday School Class build their own puzzle. Let them collect and clean as many popsicle sticks to make this craft.

By reusing the popsicle sticks, kids learn about making "something out of nothing". They will also learnabout preparing, enduring and sharingin the process ofcollecting the sticks until there are enough sticksfor everyone to use. Teach them the importance of teamwork. Use every opportunity to teach kids character!

This popsicle puzzle craft is ideal to use with a teaching at the beginning of a school year. If you plan to work chronologically through the Bible and you start off with Creation studies, this is a very good idea to use this craft with your studies.

All children are fascinated by bugs and they alllove to draw bugs. It's not the normal "feel" of paper under their little fingers, but this time it's wood. Kidsdevelop their fine musclesby handling different textures and working in different mediums. Using a paintbrush will learn them to consentrate on the brushing action and keeping the brush slightly in the air - a totally different technique than drawing with a crayon. One can use craft paint on wood to create lovely colors.

Yet another opportunity to teach colors, shapes and interesting facts eg "all spiders have 8 legs" or "all insects have wings" or "Isn't it amazing how God created all these little bugs?"

The great thing is that the children can exchange their puzzles afterwards. This is a brilliant way of boosting their self image. They'll feel just so proud of themselves when they see a friend building their "originally designed" puzzlethat they have created on their own. A puzzle like this will also make out a special handmade gift.
