Packaging of product is actually a necessity and sometimes more than it.

Some basic objectives of packaging of product are as follows:

Barrier safety While packaging a special care is taken to protect the objects in the container from atmospheric elements, like oxygen, water vapor, dust, etc. In short it creates a barrier from these undesired elements that may harm the content.

Physical safety For packaging of product varieties of materials are used which are intended to protect the contents enclosed in the package from external and unexpected circumstances, like shock, vibration, temperature, compression, etc.

Agglomeration or Containment This is a kind of creating strategy where small objects are typically grouped together in single package for easy transportation and efficient handling. On the other hand, bulk commodities, such as salt, cement or similar items are divided into average size packages that are suitable size for end users.

Information transmission This is very similar to the notes that state information related to how to use, transport, recycle or dispose the package or product. These notes are often printed on the package or label of the container.

Tamper proof The purpose of the packaging is also to reduce the chances of tampering with the product. For this, containers are designed in a way so that they cannot be re-closed or gets physically damaged. Still if the product is tampered, it will show the signs of theft. Some packages also provide the options to include anti-theft devices. This is helpful to prevent theft of the content.

Ease Since packaging of product features all the product details and safety of handling, it helps dealers and distributors in distribution, display, handling, opening, sale, re-closing, use and re-use.
