What Car? has recently held its annual award ceremony and the What Car? Car of the Year award was awarded to Volkswagens new model, the Up.
Impressive, but will the new Volkswagen be affordable to the average motorist? Well, yes is the answer as it is extremely reasonably priced at only 10,000. The UP beat off competition from a number of already successful cars in order to scoop the main prize and it wasnt its only award of the evening either as it collected awards for best city car and car safety.
Volkswagens sales are set to go UP following the award and there is likely to be a knock on effect for the VW Groups similar cars which take shape in the form of the Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo which are both currently in production. Those wishing to test drive one of the cars at their local Seat or Skoda dealer will have to be patient though as both models are yet to go on sale.
