subject: Become A Smarter Athlete With Fish Oil [print this page]

Its a great ting if you like to work out, as regular exercise helps you maintain proper weight, it keeps you flexible and strong, conditions your heart and lungs and results in longer mobility compared to those who avoid regular movement. But to only reap benefits of a consistent routine and not suffer from the possible harmful effects of it, you need to do it right.

First of all, you need to add some variety to your routine. You may love jogging or weight lifting, but each discipline focuses on one part of the body or one type of exercises not really working the body as a whole. To make sure that all your muscles get trained, to stretch and strengthen, find exercises that allow you for all around training. The more balance you find, the better your overall condition and results.

Every sport requires some kind of attire and gear, so whatever your choice of activity, you need to pick the items that are best for it and for your body. Concentrate on the piece that is the most important, like shoes for a runner and a mat for a yoga enthusiast, and instead of buying fast and cheap, buy smart. You dont have to buy the most expensive air of running shoes on the market, but try different pairs in different price ranges to find ones that are right for you. Ask around at your yoga classes to see which mats last longer, because it might be worth to spend a bit more once instead of buying a new cheaper mat every six months.

Your workout will benefit from your diet, so ask yourself what results youre looking for and find foods that will support it. A body builder will have completely different diet requirements than a person working on their flexibility, so learn whats good for you. No matter what your goal, remember never to eat just before a workout, youll be best off having a meal about three hours in advance, and wait about fifteen to thirty minutes after exercising to eat, even if its something small like a yogurt with probiotics or an apple. Just like you shouldnt eat, you should definitely drink before and during your routine. Water is advised, but some doctors recommend sports drinks claiming they hydrate faster and for longer, so take that into consideration and pick what works for you.

A workout is supposed to leave you tired but happy, energized and feeling powerful, but if you have any health conditions, you take a wrong step or overdo it, you might get hurt. Treat your body well and take supplements like niacin or fish oil to keep you strong, observe yourself and stop if any exercise feels wrong, and know when to stop so you dont strain your muscles. And if you suffer a contusion, no matter how small it seems, have it checked out as its better to find out a hurting ankle is just a sprain than let a fracture go unnoticed for weeks and get worse.
